Masaru Isonuma is a project assistant professor jointly appointed at the R&D Center for LLMs, National Institute of Informatics, and the Center for Language AI Research, Tohoku University. His research focuses on understanding the learning mechanisms underlying large-scale AI models, aiming to advance AI safety and human-AI symbiosis.
Previously, he was a JSPS Overseas Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, where he worked with Prof. Ivan Titov. He earned his PhD from the University of Tokyo under the supervision of Ichiro Sakata, Junichiro Mori, and Danushka Bollegala.
